Your training.
Your choice.

PaceMotive Free works without an account. Basic Pro stores only the account and training information needed to sync your workouts and history across devices.

At a glance

PaceMotive is the product and brand name of Pace Motive, a registered Ontario sole proprietorship and the operator of this service. We do not sell personal information, run advertising profiles, or put completed weights and reps into shared workout links or anonymous analytics. Basic Pro Early Access uses a verified account. Paid access uses Stripe-hosted subscription payment; a limited feedback-test account can receive free access without Stripe.

Information kept on your device

Free saved workouts, timer settings, recent local results, install choices, and an offline queue are stored in your browser. The installable web version also caches public site files. Clearing PaceMotive's browser/site data removes this local information; uninstalling the icon alone may not.

A plan link can contain its title, timing, equipment, exercises, planned reps, and planned starting weights. Completed results are not included. Plan information leaves your device only when you choose to copy, open, or send the link.

Basic Pro account and training data

When you create or use Basic Pro, we store your email address, a protected password hash, terms-acceptance time/version, account status, and server-side session records. We store activation and reset tokens only as one-way hashes. We do not store your email password or authenticator codes.

Your cloud training data can include saved program titles, exercises, timers, planned reps and weights, weekly-plan days, custom activity names and optional minutes, completed weights and reps, units, completion times, and random record identifiers used to sync safely and avoid duplicate saves. It is used to show your library, weekly plan and history, sync signed-in devices, prevent stale overwrites, export your account, and provide support you request.

Limited audit and abuse-prevention records can include account identifiers, event type, program/result identifiers, timestamps, and keyed hashes derived from an email address or IP address. The account API does not keep raw IP addresses in its database. Hosting and network providers may still process IP addresses and basic request information to deliver and secure the service.

Anonymous site totals

Our measurement service accepts an allowlisted action, such as an approximate site session, timer start, or copied share link, plus a broad source such as Direct, Google, Facebook, Instagram, or Reddit. It immediately adds one to a daily total.

A temporary yes-or-no marker in the current browser tab prevents the same tab from being counted as a new session on every page. It is not an identifier and disappears when that browser session ends.

The analytics database does not accept or store a visitor ID, IP address, full referrer URL, email, workout content, or individual activity history. We retain these aggregate counts to compare product use over time.

Emails, payments, providers, and disclosure

We use your account email for verification, password recovery, important account/security notices, billing support, and support you request—not automatic marketing. Promotional email requires a separate lawful basis or consent and will include identification and an unsubscribe method.

Stripe hosts Basic Pro checkout and subscription management. Stripe can collect your name, contact and billing details, payment method, and tax information under its own privacy terms. PaceMotive does not receive or store complete card numbers. We receive and store limited Stripe identifiers and subscription facts such as customer, checkout and subscription identifiers, price, payment status, renewal or cancellation status, invoice events, and refund events so we can grant access, prevent duplicate processing, provide support, and keep billing records accurate.

If you email support, your email provider and ours process the address, message, and anything you include so we can reply. Do not email medical records or urgent symptoms.

VPS hosting, email, Stripe, network-security, and encrypted backup providers process limited information only as needed to provide those services. Processing or storage may occur outside your province or country and may be subject to local law. We may disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect users, PaceMotive, or the public. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and deletion schedule

  • Local Free data: remains in that browser until you remove it or clear site data.
  • Active Basic Pro account and training data: remains until you delete the account, subject to the limits below.
  • Unverified registrations: activation links expire after 24 hours and unusable unverified records are removed after the cleanup window, normally within about 48 hours.
  • Reset links: expire after 20 minutes. Expired hashed token records are periodically removed.
  • Sessions: a normal browser session lasts up to 12 hours and expires after 15 minutes without activity; “keep me signed in” lasts up to 14 days. Password reset, sign-out everywhere, disable, deletion, or emergency lockdown revokes sessions sooner.
  • Signup and rate-limit security events: retained for up to seven days. Program audit metadata is limited to the most recent 1,000 events and is removed with the account where linked.
  • Billing records: PaceMotive keeps the limited subscription and webhook records needed to operate access, refunds, disputes, security, and legal or accounting obligations. Stripe retains its own transaction records under its policies and legal obligations.
  • Support email: normally kept for up to 24 months after the request is resolved, unless needed longer for security, a dispute, or law.
  • Encrypted recovery backups: up to 60 days on the VPS and up to 365 days in the protected offsite archive.

Deleting an account immediately removes its live identity, sessions, programs, and workout history—including weekly plan items—after any active subscription is canceled. Encrypted backups cannot be selectively edited and age out under the schedule above. They are not used for normal access; if disaster recovery restores an older copy, previously deleted data will be removed again when it can be identified. Limited transaction or support records may remain where reasonably needed for refunds, disputes, fraud prevention, accounting, or law. We may retain information longer when required to preserve a legal request or comply with law.

Safeguards

We use HTTPS, restricted server access, protected password/token hashes, Secure and HttpOnly account cookies, same-origin and CSRF checks, account isolation, rate limits, encrypted backups, administrator MFA, and tested recovery procedures. No system is risk-free; contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
